Time

Has anyone noticed that time keeps ticking whether we want it to or not? I once heard a saying that our health is our wealth - and I TOTALLY agree with it! I think our number 2 on the wealth list would be TIME. Too often we take our time for granted but we would be in denial if we think we have limitless time in this world.

Why is time so precious?
  1. Because time can’t be bought - you can have all the money in the world but you can’t buy more time. Everyone is given the same 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week. It is true that money can give you more freedom in how you use your time, but that does not mean you suddenly have 27 hours in a day.
  2. Because we can’t pause or stop time and it is irreplaceable - once time is gone, it is gone. You can’t turn back time to yesterday or even 3 seconds ago unfortunately. All we have is our present and the future.
  3. Because it is a limited source – we all hope to live a long life and we thought with money we can extend our life. I am a big believer that once our time is up, it is up and there is nothing we can do about it. There are so many unexpected things, freak accidents or tragedies to support my belief.

Personally, I think I can be wiser with my time. There are times when I relook at my life and think ‘if only I did that back then’ or ‘if only I used that time for…’ but it is all too late. However, since I am now being reminded on how precious time is, I have promised myself that I will be more careful about using mine. I want to live a meaningful life with purpose, especially since I think I owe it to my family and more importantly myself to make the most of it.
“Shorter as life is, we make it still shorter by the careless waste of time.”

A mother who is working...

Let’s cut to the chase, Motherhood is SUPER HARD!!! I think every mother should receive a PhD Degree in Juggling, if such a thing exists. Besides being a mother, they also need to juggle work, housework, being a wife, a friend, a daughter and the list goes on.

Personally, I am a full time working mother although I do believe every mother is a working mother. Staying at home does not mean you don’t need to do any work. I used to stay at home until Miss E turned 8 months-ish and it was hard work! Regardless whether you are a full time working mother or a stay at home mother, I think we are all in this together. We do all have our own challenges and advantages, and I don’t think we should be comparing our lives to other’s live because no life is ever the same.

From my approximately 1.5 years’ experience as a full-time working mother, I can say it is doable. Miss E is a healthy, happy, and smart little girl and I believe she does love us very much (she hasn’t really said that to us to be honest, and nor does she like to kiss us –BUT she has now started cuddling us more and more! Our daughter really doesn’t like to show her emotions but we know. Anyway back to the main topic…) I am not here to recommend mothers to be or not to be working but I am here to share my experience as a mother who is working. I also want to share my passions in a few other things like minimalist living, finance tips and tricks, and art projects J

Hope you like and enjoy this blog! Please do share any experience or comments you have as a mother as I know I would need them!
